Lakewood Yacht Club’s staff carries out the policies of the Board of Directors and Club Manager for the last 42 years, Terry Chapman, and are responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Club. 

On behalf of the Lakewood Staff, our Commodore, Flag Officers and the Membership Committee, we are pleased to welcome you to Lakewood Yacht Club's website. Throughout our long history, our club has endeavored to serve its members and to promote boating. After 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry, mostly in private clubs, I look forward to expanding my involvement along the Gulf Coast. Most recently I was the general manager of a private yacht club in Oyster Bay, NY. I'm excited to apply my work ethic and talents to the programs at LYC and be a part of the team that brings extraordinary experiences to our members and guests at every opportunity.

As Director of Marketing and Membership Development, I am responsible for welcoming new members and telling prospective members about all the wonderful benefits of joining and being a member of Lakewood Yacht Club. No matter what membership you choose, I’m confident you will enjoy all that Lakewood has to offer, whether it’s sailing in one of the many regattas, socializing with new friends in the bar and lounge or waterfront dining in our newly renovated dining room. As the Director of Member Services & Events, it is my job to oversee where the fun begins and never ends! Through food & beverage programming, kids activities, and Club standards, I work with all the committees to ensure that their events are smooth sailing. I also serve in the capacity of catering director and book both Member and non-member events and celebrations. Club Member and guest satisfaction thru social, culinary and service are a high priority to me. It is a sincere effort to ensure a consistent positive and memorable experience each and every time you visit your Club.

I find great pleasure in providing our members the perfect rental spots for their boats and manage the marinas' wet and dry slips, as well as the small boat pavilion, dinghy and locker storage. I also manage the Courtesy Officer staff that greets you at the front gate and patrols the grounds for your convenience.

After almost 20 years in the Food and Beverage industry, 10 of those years being at Lakewood, I've worked my way up through the ranks. I've been a server, room service attendant, bartender, banquet captain, chef, and now food and beverage director. Working at a private club is a privilege because the members invite you into their family. I look forward to being a steward to the Club and its amazing history.

I was previously an Executive Sous Chef at Royal Oaks Country Club in Houston. I have a BS in Food Service Management from Johnson and Wales University in Rhode Island and have been working in the industry for 17 years. I was born in St. Louis but have had opportunities to cook in North Carolina, Rhode Island, and Pennsylvania before settling in Houston in 2013. In addition to my culinary background, I have also achieved a Level 2 WSET (Wine and Spirit Education Trust) and graduated with distinction from the German Wine School in Koblenz, Germany.

As Waterfront Director, I will play a key role in shaping and promoting the Club's youth and adult sailing programs. The continued growth and success of LYC's internationally recognized youth sailing program is a high priority. I will work with the coaching staff to help young sailors prepare for national and international competitions as well as develop new programs, fleets, and events.I am really excited to be working with the Lakewood Yacht Club members, staff and coaches. Our coaches are some of the best and are doing a great job. I hope to help them build on the already great program.
