Lakewood's Races and Regattas Draw Sailors From Around the World!

Positioned near the Seabrook-Kemah Bridge on Clear Lake, with direct access to Galveston Bay, Lakewood Yacht Club is one of the country's finest racing destinations. Our long history in hosting numerous regattas includes the Harvest Moon Regatta®, the largest sailboat race on the Gulf Coast, with over 200 entries each year! We take pride in our Race Committee and their exceptional dedication to hosting regattas, which draw sailors from all over the world.

Sailing on The Gulf of Mexico, with its Southeast prevailing winds, offers crews an adventure and a chance to hone their skills in a place like no other. Whether you are sailing in the bay for the day or endeavoring on a cruise from Galveston to Port Aransas, Lakewood's location is ideal for sailors and cruisers alike.

The Lakewood Yacht Club RS21 Keelboat Fleet is on its way! The first six boats are scheduled to arrive at LYC just before Thanksgiving, and the second six boats are scheduled to arrive in the second week of December. Plans for getting the boats properly rigged and ready for use are being made now with the fleet available for use by LYC members well before the end of December. Read more here.
